How To change Image size In Photoshop

We know Photoshop is mainly image editing software, so an image is the basic element of working with it..Most common thing is to resizing image size. Its simple work, but many of us don’t know the way, that’s it.Now we will learn how could be an imaged resized in very easy way by Photoshop.Don’t worry about the version, its all steps are same in each version, old or recent.

For this tutorial I have downloaded this image from Google image search,
Open it on adobe Photoshop. We need to see the original image size..So go to ‘Image size’ command from the Image menu in the menu bar or press ‘Ctrl+Alt+I‘..We will see this dialog box,

This is the original Image size. But we are seeing there are two division on the box, Pixel Dimensions and Document Size, which are showing different measurements. But dont be confused, as we are going to change image size, so we will follow the Pixel Dimension..and main point that we have to remember it’s ( Pixel Dimension) controls the actual, physical dimensions of a  photo. So lets see the Pixel Dimension,

Its showing that the image size is 4.37M(“M” stands for megabytes).

But we cant change image size just knowing the file size..For that purposes we have to go on the Width and Height of the dialogue box..You can choose any number to set on the larger size..I have these as shown here,

after setting the larger size another size will be set automatically..Now see the image size, its only 1.45 M.

There are another way to change image size by percentage.Lets see hows that? have you noticed we have changed the measurement by selecting Pixel’..If you click on the blue arrow of there will seen two option, pixel and shown on this screen shot,

Just select percent and type any percent as your requirements. I have put 50 %..Now see the result,

After putting 50 % the size been changed in to 1.09M..But the image looks same..with original resolution,

Just   size been changed remaining same resolution.

In the same way if you want to larger any image, you can follow the steps just setting larger number or Percentages, Image quality can be lost.Because the the original pixel will broken..and image will seen blurry.

One more easy way to change image size is here..

In the directory or folder , where you have saved your image, just put the curser, dimension, Type and the image Size will be shown as it is here..

Go to File Menu> save for web,

Save the file as JPG format and compression quality in to Medium..Now see the result,

Dimension is same but the image size has been changed..But the image quality is same..You can try it now..All the best…:)
